Description
We are looking for a project manager to create an awareness-raising campaign geared towards the post-secondary community about the issue of mental health. The goal would be to favour success for students living with a mental illness. This offer is available in the context of the Canada Summer Jobs Program. (See the eligibility criteria below.)
About the organization
The Quebec Association of Post-Secondary Students with Disabilities (AQEIPS) is a non-profit organization that was created in 1991 by and for students with disabilities. Its main mission is to promote equal opportunities in post-secondary education and to strengthen the community in its defence of the right to higher education, social inclusion, active life and citizen participation.
Eligility criteria
This job is offered thanks to the Canada Summer Jobs program. Certain selection criteria are required. Here is an exact list. Eligible candidates:
(a) are between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusively) at the start of employment;
(b) were registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year;
(c) intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
(d) are registered in a secondary, post-secondary, CÉGEP (Quebec only), professional or technical program;
(e) are Canadian citizens or permanent residents or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
(f) are legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
Responsabilities
Do a review of the resources available as well as the means that have been used to reach post-secondary students dealing with mental illness.
Elaborate an action plan to reach defined clienteles with the help of organizations from the field.
Conceive promotional tools such as posters or web content to reach defined clienteles.
Broadcast the tools created in the context of the project across educational establishments in view of the 2016-2017 back to school season.
Education
Have completed or nearly completed a university degree in communications or computer graphics. Knowledge of a closely or remotely related field is also an asset.
Work Experience
It is an asset to have worked:
• In a place with a fixed schedule.
• In a field related to research.
• In close cooperation with colleagues.
Requirements
• Excellent oral and written proficiencies in English or in French;
• Abilities in fields related to computer graphics;
• Good knowledge of social media and of broadcasting web content;
• Capacity to adapt to work with colleagues in an open space;
• Meticulous presentation for work with partners;
Additional experiences/skills
• Being involved in a community or student association setting (an asset);
• Knowing laws, equal opportunity measures, policies and other issues related to post-secondary education in Quebec (an asset).
Working conditions
• Full-time position in our Montreal office (office is accessible to persons with reduced mobility);
• Thirty-five hours (35) per week for 6 weeks (possibility of adjusting hours, for example 26 hours per week during 8 weeks);
• Entry into service in May-June 2016;
• Salary: $13 per hour.
